    Doctor Who – Disney+

Doctor who has gone from a bunch of white guys to a white woman and now to a Black man, Ncuti Gatwa, who is making the iconic roll his own. The British actor is beyond talented and he’s returning Doctor Who to its fun yet occasionally sinister fun side, no shade to Jodie Whitaker who was pretty and as far as we’re concerned doesn’t get enough props. Though for years its been strictly a BBC affair, the latest series can be found on Disney+ and it’s show runner is Russell T, Davies, who also serves as executive producer and writer. Gatwa is the 15th Doctor and he should make for an entertaining weekend binge.

If you’re looking to rewatch one of the greatest summer blockbusters of all time featuring the iconic Will Smith and fashion gawd Jeff Goldblum, look no further than Independence Day . The 1990s classic film finds groups of people responding to a major extraterrestrial attack – simultaneously in the world’s biggest cities— on July 4. The aftermath finds Will Smith playing a Marine pilot squadron leader, helping the world navigate the massive alien-like crashout as humans realize they’re not really alone.

UNTOLD: The Murder of Air McNair on Netflix dives into the shocking death and legacy of NFL star Steve McNair. The documentary revisits some of McNair’s greatest moments on the field, including the move from Cleveland to Nashville , featuring insights from his former coaches and teammates from his days at HBCU Alcorn State to his fantastic NFL career. McNair’s life was tragically cut short when he was found dead alongside a woman in a Nashville condo on July 4th, 2009. The doc explores the investigation into his murder, the hunt for the murder weapon, and uncovers unexpected theories that challenge the initial conclusions about what really happened to the late, great Air McNair. Alien: Romulus

With Alien: Romulus, director Fede Alvarez aims to recapture what made the first film great by focusing on a new crew, this time a bunch of young planet colonizers/ scavengers who want more out of life. Little do they know things will go incredibly wrong when they visit the derelict Renaissance space station, home to a deadly secret that will lead to them fighting for their lives.

The film focuses on Rain (Cailee Spainy), a young orphan, and her droid brother Andy (David Jonsson), whose primary directive is to ensure his sister, Rain, is good.

That won’t be the case when they encounter space’s deadliest creature, the Xenomorph, with which the Weyland-Yutani corporation has been conducting deadly experiments on the space station.

It’s the perfect film to close out the summer with, and Jonsson’s performance as Andy being highly praised. RUN, don’t walk to see this film so you can see that crazy ending everyone can’t stop talking about.
