T he MTV VMAs were pushed back a day so the world could collectively watch the (extremely entertaining) Presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.

Despite being a day late, the New York-hosted show delivered. It included performances from Anitta, Eminem, Glorilla , LL Cool J, Megan Thee Stallion , and Lenny Kravitz, assisted by Quavo .

LL Cool J had one of the most electric showings when he celebrated the 40th anniversary of Def Jam Records by tapping Flavor Flav and Chuck D for performances.

Performing aside, Meg was also the night’s host and prior to the festivities she explained why she’s so hyped for the award show.

“I’m excited to change clothes 500 times. I’m excited to perform. I’m excited to see all the Hotties,” Megan told PEOPLE . “I love New York, I can’t wait to be there again and eat all the food, and I’m excited for people to see what I bring to the table while hosting.”

Among all of her outfit changes were her peers putting together their own masterful looks as they walked the red carpet.
