Months after the beef between Hip-Hop “Big 3” Icons Kendrick Lamar and Drake had all of social media in a chokehold for most of the summer, folks are still buzzing about the rivalry, especially since it was announced that Kendrick will be headlining the Super Bowl LIX halftime show next year.

Now, a rep for Drake is looking to dispel rumors that his client or anyone on his team has filed a cease and desist order to restrict what songs the “Money Trees” rapper can perform on the Super Bowl stage. (And we all know which song in particular the rumors surround. It’s the one that became an internet meme gold mine after it took on a life of its own. Do I even need to name the song? Can’t you already hear it?)

“There was never any intention or plan to send a cease and desist to anyone,” Drake’s rep told Page Six of rumors that the “Hotline Bling” artist tried to block K-Dot from performing — (hell, I’ll just say it) — “ Not Like us .”

If anyone is wondering how the rumors surrounding the apparently non-existent cease and desist order began, well, unsurprisingly, they started with the figure in Hip Hop and pop culture best known for being messy and gossipy who is not named DJ Vlad, Joe Budden or DJ Akademiks. You guessed it Wack 100 .

    From Page Six:

The gossip began over the weekend when Wack 100, manager to West Coast rappers Blueface and The Game, made the claim during an interview.

“He’s trying to get the NFL to restrict Kendrick,” the 46-year-old alleged in a clip shared by Livebitez .

When asked if he thinks the alleged restriction will “hold,” Wack — born Cash Jones — replied, “No, if Jay-Z got something to do with it, it ain’t.”

Even if no one is moving to restrict what Lamar will perform during the halftime show, it’s just really difficult to imagine the good kid, m.A.A.d city artist would be performing “Not Like Us” in its entirety. Can you imagine Kendrick standing up on the NFL stage and shouting “certified pedophile” in front of that audience?

I mean, if Snoop Dogg can get away with Crip walking on that stage in full blue flag regalia, then I suppose anything is possible, but still — it would be quite a time to be alive.

See how social media is reacting to the news below.
