Drake fans were understandably confused by his recent selfie where the Canadian rap star was sporting pigtails. Fans trolled the 37-year-old on social media, one saying he was going through a midlife crisis, as braids had been his most recent hairstyle. Another social media post referenced his birthday on Oct. 24, saying, “Drake with those f–—pigtails, EIGHT DAYS away from being THIRTY EIGHT years old is pissing me off so bad,” the said.

But turns out that the “God’s Plan” rapper, still recovering from the burns he received in his battle with Kendrick Lamar which resulted in “Not Like Us” being the summer’s big anthem, might have just been gearing up for his new Spanish language record.

Yup, Drake just dropped a song with an upcoming Mexican rapper named Chino Pacas whose debut Que Sigan Llegando Las Pacas, considered to be part of the controversial subgenre of music called corridos tumbados, just came out.

On the song “Modo Capone,” Drake rhymes the verse, “La ninfo mami me llama/ Me quiere en su cama, fresas y cocaine/ Travis sonando/ Cubanas me gusta portarlas, dinero es powder,” which loosely translates to “The nympho mommy calls me/ She wants me in her bed, strawberries and cocaine/ Travis playing/ I like to wear Cubans, money is power.”

Drake coupled this foray into a new genre with an Instagram post that appears to be a Spanish-language ad for Stake, the online casino he’s a spokesman for.

“Corrido Drake is a vibe,” the caption reads.

In other Drake news, Young Thug who’s currently on trial in Atlanta on racketeering and other charges, said that he hopes that he can reconnect with his former collaborators. That’s if he beats he case, we imagine.

“@Drake @1future @MetroBoomin we all bruddas. Music aint the same without us collabin,” he posted to X from jail, where he must have limited access to social media.

No word from Drake, but Future reposted Thug’s comment.
