Portland small businesses under pressure but optimistic, Fed survey finds
Small businesses in the Portland area feel more financial pressure than those elsewhere in the country, according to a recent survey by the Federal Reserve. Portland businesses are more likely to be feeling the impacts of inflation, the survey found, and are more likely to have trouble finding staff and supplies. More rate their financial condition as poor.

In their first NWSL league game since the Olympics, NJ/NY Gotham FC earned a crucial 2-0 win over Portland Thorns FC. This was a vital win for the Bats as it not only was a win against another playoff team, but it created a seven-point gap to Portland in the race for a home playoff game. Friday, July 19th, was a special occasion at Westmoreland’s Union Manor, on S.E. 23rd Avenue just north of Bybee. Two of the residents of the nonprofit senior apartment building – Rena Popivchak, and Ruby Smith – were celebrating their 101st birthdays in the ground floor Multipurpose Room.
