Dario Lewis sentenced to 25 years in Judson Street killing
ALBANY — The city man who admitted to shooting another man to death on Judson Street last November was sentenced to 25 years in state prison Thursday. At a hearing in May, Dario Lewis, 32, pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree manslaughter in the Nov. 11, 2023 killing of Elijah Thompson. State Supreme Court Justice Thomas Marcelle sentenced Lewis as a predicate felon because of a previous conviction in 2015 for attempted robbery in Albany County.

LOUDONVILLE — The Siena men’s basketball team has already begun a new era under first-year head coach Gerry McNamara, and now the 2024-2025 regular season is within sight. On Thursday the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced its league schedule. The Saints are set to begin their 20-game MAAC slate on Friday, Dec. 6 at Niagara, and will play their first conference home game on Jan. 3, 2025 against Manhattan.

Hawthorne Street fire in Schenectady displaces 11
SCHENECTADY — A fire on Hawthorne Street displaced 11 residents on Tuesday afternoon, with Red Cross volunteers assisting two adults and nine children at the scene. Schenectady Fire Chief Donald Mareno said the small fire at 1433 Hawthorne St. was extinguished within 10 minutes — contained to its area of origin. There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire. Mareno said the department is still investigating the fire.
