Albany man admits to trafficking cocaine, marijuana
An Albany man is facing at least 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to trafficking cocaine and marijuana in the Capital Region. Brian Scott, 44, admitted in U.S. District Court that he and a co-conspirator sent drug couriers, known as “horses,” to transport cocaine to the North Country and marijuana to the Capital Region, the U.S. Attorney Office’s said. He also admitted to selling over 400 grams of cocaine to someone between May and September 2023.

Pittsfield and Great Barrington — A GoFundMe campaign has been started for the family of EarlGiver Essien. On July 17, the 13-year-old was found unresponsive at Benedict Pond and, while lifesaving efforts including CPR were performed by several bystanders and doctors at Fairview Hospital, the child was pronounced dead at the hospital.
