Gov. Glenn Youngkin allocates $30M for groundwork to Hampton Roads commerce park
The City of Suffolk got a boost this week as it received $30.1 million from the state to improve roads to a proposed 540-acre industrial commerce park. The Port 460 Logistics Center will be located in Hampton Roads along Route 460 and the Route 58 bypass. The center has access to the entire Norfolk region as well as Interstates 85 and 95.

THE WISE COUNTY, VA HISTORICAL SOCIETY MEETING will be held Saturday, August 3 at 10:30 AM in Saint Paul, Virginia at the Railroad Museum. The meeting is open to the public. Mr. Jerry Couch, editor of the “Clinch Valley Times,” will be the guest speaker. His topic that morning will be “The History of Saint Paul-Minneapolis, Virginia – the town that never quite made it.” We will also be touring the Railroad Museum.

Championship spotter and Bristol native Bob Jeffrey passes away after cancer battle
Bob Jeffrey, a championship spotter in both the NASCAR Cup Series and the Indy Car Series, passed away after battling cancer. He was 65 years old. Bob was a native of Bristol and attended Tennessee High before his family moved to West Virginia before his senior year of high school. He returned to the area to pursue a career in racing, working for Henderson Motorsports and Ed Whitaker Racing as a tire changer.
