Endangered Child Alert: Three children missing from Knoxville
Nashville, Tenn. (WZTV) — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has issued an endangered child alert for three children missing from Knoxville. The children were last contacted on July 16, 2024. Twelve-year-old Aki Warren II, Eight-year-old Amena Hood and Five-year-old Amirr Warren are believed to be with their non-custodial father, Aki Warren. Warren is a 43 year-old black male, 6'2" with brown eyes and black hair.

Governor presents award to JAM program
Governor Glenn Youngkin and First Lady Suzanne Youngkin present the “Spirit of Virginia” Award to Brett Morris, Executive Director and President of Junior Appalachian Musicians, Inc. (JAM), a nonprofit organization in Independence that reaches approximately 2,000 young students in five states to teach them to play traditional Appalachian old time and bluegrass music. The award was presented at the 88th Old Fiddlers’ Convention sponsored by Galax Moose Lodge #733. Looking on is JAM student Savannah Hodges of Wytheville, representing all JAM students that benefit from the program. Morris stated that the award is dedicated to the late Helen White, who founded JAM.
