Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Saturday, July 20, 2024, on Goshen Road near Rock Elm Way. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Yanique Tyshay Jones and a GoFundMe fundraiser has been started to raise funds for her young son’s future.

A Montgomery County Police officer observed a driver committing a traffic violation in Downtown Bethesda early Saturday morning. The driver of the car fled on foot but was apprehended. Police searched the vehicle and located a 9mm handgun.
