Six KC cats in urgent need of foster homes. Expenses paid. Plus more cats you can adopt!
2024-03-01
Meowy Matchmakers, in Fairway, KS, have six cats at their shelter that came in after their caretaker lost her home. They are having a difficult time with the transition and are so scared and depressed that they're not eating. Getting them into foster homes would help get them through this difficult time. Unfortunately, Meowy Matchmakers doesn't have enough foster parents to house them, so they're reaching out.
If you take one or more of these cats in as a foster and give them the love and patience they need, Meowy Matchmakers will cover just about everything you need: food, litter boxes, the litter itself, blankets, toys, and vet care. What do you think? Sounds like a win-win.
This is a great opportunity for anyone out there who would love to have a cat but doesn't have it in their budget to get one. Even if you have more money than you know what to do with, it is a great opportunity to do a good thing for a sweet, little animal. Not to mention the joy and companionship that you'd get from the deal.
The only downside is that as a foster, your little cat will eventually move on to a permanent home. If that's a concern, you could always adopt them yourself!
You can learn more about fostering through Meowy Matchmakers and fill out an application to become a foster parent here. Something to consider.
The rest of this entry will revisit cats that have been on these pages before, months and months ago but are still up for adoption.
Shadow
Shadow, from The Animal Rescue Alliance, is a black beauty that graced these pages about ten months ago and is still available for adoption. Although he's shy around strangers, if he knows you, he loves you. He's a friendly guy, about seven or eight years old, and would do best as an only cat.
Jazz, from Cats Pawjamas, was on here about six months ago. Do you see a theme? Black cats can be a challenge to adopt.
Jazz looks like she could have belonged to Cleopatra with those big ears and pointy chin. She has a similar disposition to Shadow--shy around strangers but sweet and friendly with her foster mom. She prefers a calm life (who doesn't?) and unlike Shadow, would be fine with both other dogs and other cats.
Penny was featured here a comparatively short two months ago but would love your consideration nonetheless. Another emergent theme--Penny is shy around new people. She loves hanging around with other cats if you've got them, and they'd also help her acclimate more quickly to her new environment. She likes things calm and will be a friendly sweetheart once she gets used to your company and realizes you only have the best of intentions.
Last we have Hazel, who was featured here about nine months ago. Hazel, unlike many longtime shelter and foster cats, is a social girl and felt at home with her new foster mom after about an hour. That a girl Hazel! She is also quite a character who follows around her foster mom like a dog and has a low, "old lady" meow. She's not that old though, about to turn eight in April. Her foster mom describes her as "one of the most unique, sweet, and social cats I’ve ever met." How has she not found a home yet?
If you're interested in Hazel, you can fill out a pre-adoption application form here. No obligation. There's also a video of Hazel on her PetFinder page where you can hear that "old lady" meow yourself. I highly recommend you giving it a look. It's a hoot.
That's it for this week. Want to look at more cats? Many of the cats from weeks past, as you know, are still available. You can peruse those with this link to my profile.
I Love Kats 😺🐈 perhaps someone could give them baths and brush their teeth 🪥 and donate them to Locks of Love in Indiana in Honor of The Joey 🦘 Feek Family 💯
