Get your dancing shoes ready! The Urbanity Dance Fall Dance Crawl is Coming up!

September 16, 2024, Boston, MA — Urbanity Dance today announced the return of its celebrated fall dance crawl, a dance performance event that takes place throughout Boston’s South End neighborhood.

This year’s crawl, Go stop listen. Still wait go will take place on October 17, 18, and 19, 2024 (the rain date is October 20, 2024), and will feature choreography by Urbanity Dance Founder Betsi Graves. The event will bring together talented Boston movers, musicians, storytellers, and poets, offering performances that dive into the layered history and stories of the South End.

For the first time, admission to the event will be free of charge, thanks to support from the National Endowment for the Arts and the City of Boston’s Wake Up the Night grant program.

“The fall dance crawl is the South End event that I most look forward to each year,” said Anmol Mehra, South End resident and Urbanity Dance Board Chair. “Not only is it a really fun way to see dance performance in places and spaces where you least expect it, but it is also an opportunity to build community while supporting incredibly talented artists.”

Groups of twenty five people will travel to over ten different locations, beginning at The Croft School and ending at The Smith; each location is activated by dance and music, featuring the participation of over 50 artists. Dance vignettes are performed by Urbanity’s Professional Company, Urbanity 2 and Youth Performance Groups, as well as by AfroBeats Dance Boston, together with original scores from Boston-based artists including Valerie Stephens and NOBYN.
