Caldwell County Sheriff's Office Press Release
On June 26, 2024, at 2:25 p.m., Detective Trent Fox, 41, of Princeton Police Department, with his emergency lights activated, was attempting to catch and stop a suspect vehicle on W. Market Street near the intersection of North Seminary Street. As he approached the intersection, the traffic light changed to red. Fox continued through the intersection and his 2016 Dodge Charger was struck in the passenger side by a U.S. Postal Service van that was traveling southbound on N. Seminary Street. The 2020 Mercedes Metris van was driven by Lora Haberlock, 45 of Princeton, KY. Both operators were transported to Caldwell Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries and released. Seatbelts were used along with airbag deployment in both vehicles. The collision is being investigated by Chief Deputy Stacey Blackburn, Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office.

Cave-in-Rock ferry will continue to run after contract renewed
After months of negotiation, a new contract will allow the Cave-in-Rock ferry to continue uninterupted service to cross the Ohio River between Kentucky and Illinois. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet posted on Saturday that Kentucky and Illinois transportation officials came to a new two-year agreement with the Ohio River Ferry Authority. The ferry authority was created by the Crittenden County Fiscal Court to oversee the management and operation of the privately owned ferry service.

LYON COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – U.S. 641 is back open near the 3 mile marker in Lyon County between Eddyville and Fredonia after a semi became stuck while making a turn. Eddyville crash leaves one injured
Eddyville Police responded to a two-car collision on an intersection of U.S. 62 in Eddyville on June 24. According to a police report, 17-year-old Jacob Matchen of Eddyville was traveling east bound on U.S. 62 when he disregarded a traffic stop and collided with a north bound vehicle driven by 54-year-old Billy Coursey of Eddyville. Both cars sustained severe damage.
