Shawn Gregory Colman, 61, of Louisville, Illinois passed away at 11:30 pm, Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in Marion, Kentucky. Shawn was born on February 1, 1963, in Centralia, Illinois the son of John and Carolyn (Fogler) Colman. A proud graduate of North Clay High School in Louisville, Shawn’s education laid the groundwork for what would become a lifelong journey of hard work and dedication. Shawn married Christina Feldhake on September 10, 2004, in Louisville, Illinois and they shared 20 years of marriage. He took to the highways as an over-the-road truck driver for Ed Lewis Trucking, based in his hometown of Louisville, Illinois.

Roosevelt Smalls, 88, of Princeton, passed away on June 20, at Princeton Nursing and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 5, at 1 p.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time on Friday, July 5, at Morgan’s Funeral Home.

He was an avid outdoorsman who cherished the thrill of deer bow hunting, a pursuit that allowed him to immerse himself in the serenity of nature. This enthusiasm for adventure extended to his passion for motorcycles, where he experienced the joy of the journey, the wind against his face, and the bond of camaraderie with fellow riders. His sense of community and patriotism was evident through his involvement with the American Legion Riders of Flora/Salem, where he rode in solidarity with veterans and their supporters. Shawn also took pride in his heritage and commitment to service as a member of the Son's of the American Legion in the Flora Post # 14. These associations were a testament to his unwavering respect for those who served and the values that define the American spirit.

Saline County Sheriff’s Office Explains Why Information Regarding Warrant Arrest Wasn’t Released to Public
HARRISBURG – The Saline County Sheriff’s Office has released information into their attempt to serve an out of state warrant on a man in the Carrier Mills area this week. According to information from the Sheriff’s Office at Saline County Facebook page, when the sheriff’s office attempted to serve the warrant Wednesday, the man fled on foot and was not able to be found.
