Inmate convicted of assaulting correction officers in Auburn
A Cayuga County Court jury found a man guilty Wednesday of assaulting two corrections officers. Windsor Coleman, 35, of Massapequa, New York, was convicted of two counts of second-degree assault (a class B violent felony) after a three-day trial, the Cayuga County District Attorney's Office said in a news release.
Auburn's Phillips is top fundraiser among NY Assembly challengers
Boosted by the state's new public financing system, Auburn Democrat Ian Phillips has more money in the bank than any Assembly challenger in New York. Phillips, who is challenging Republican Assemblyman John Lemondes in the 126th district, reported $206,786 cash on hand after receiving $175,000 in state matching funds — the maximum amount available to eligible Assembly candidates participating in the state public campaign finance program.

However, large hail and damaging winds remain likely and a Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect for the area.
