One more day before we get relief from the heat and humidity. Cold front #1 will create scattered showers and thunderstorms on Friday. There’s a small chance a few of the storms could be strong to severe. Behind cold front #1, we’ll see highs in the mid 80s and less humidity over the weekend. Cold front #2 Sunday will bring even cooler and drier air with highs on Labor Day in the upper 70s. Long term, the pattern looks quiet and warm next week with highs 80 to 85.

EUREKA, IL. – The Eureka men's soccer team began their season with a 3-0 loss to Benedictine in a non-conference matchup at McKinzie Field on Friday night. 27 dogs removed from Peoria home after pair arrested on animal cruelty charges
PEORIA (25News Now) - Law enforcement arrested a Peoria man and woman Thursday who they said were responsible for starving 27 dogs, all of whom were removed from the home. The suspects, 60-year-old Eileen H. Wood and 54-year-old Kevin W. Schuch both face a slew of charges, including 27 counts each of cruel treatment of animals and 27 counts each of violation of owner duties under humane care for animals acts.
Man seriously injured in shooting overnight in downtown Peoria
PEORIA, Ill. – A man was shot outside the Neon Bison bar in downtown Peoria early Friday morning. In a night where quality trumped quantity in scoring chances, Bradley emerged victorious with a 4-0 win over Western Illinois.
