Meet Firefighter/EMT Chris Schmid
I currently work at Station 1 (W. Dayton Street) on the 'C' shift. I had the opportunity to do a ride-along with the Madison Fire Department my senior year of high school. I was impressed by the professionalism and the high-quality care that was provided by the crew. The firefighters on shift that day really made me feel welcomed and explained exactly what they were doing, and why, in a way that I understood at the time without having any prior experience. This opportunity solidified my desire to join the fire service after high school.
