HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) — A year after losing her son in a quadruple shooting in High Point, a mother is calling on the public to help close the case.

Sabrina Keel is the mother of 25-year-old Isaiah Keel. She says a year ago, Isaiah had just become a father and was the backbone of his family.

“He never gave up. He pushed through a lot of things, but he always said he was never afraid to die. He was a believer in God, and that was one thing I loved about him,” Sabrina said.

Sabrina says her son helped so many people. She claims that’s what he was doing the night of Sept. 3, 2023, when one of his friends asked him to help fix a car battery.

“So they drove him to High Point because he lived in Greensboro … Not even within an hour, he was shot down, and so were the others that were there,” Sabrina said.

According to High Point police, the shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. that Sunday in the 2900 block of Creekview Court.

Police say Isaiah died at the scene, and three other people were taken to the hospital.

A suspect still hasn’t been arrested for the shooting, but High Point police determined the shooting was targeted.

Meanwhile, Sabrina is calling on anyone with information on the shooting to come forward so her family can have closure.

“Because I still feel like I have an open wound that won’t close because there’s no justice. Once one person comes, somebody else might come, and we can get this case closed. I just kind of feel numb to the whole situation,” Sabrina said.

We reached out to High Point police for an update on the investigation.

They said it’s still an open case, and they encourage anyone with information to reach out to crime stoppers of High Point. You can provide tips anonymously.
