RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – The NCAA announced its list of upcoming championship host sites on Wednesday, and several locations across North Carolina made the cut.
The Triangle area will play host to a wide array of NCAA events for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons, ranging from men’s basketball to women’s gymnastics. North Carolina was chosen to host 17 championship events in total.
In men’s basketball, the newly named Lenovo Center is slated for the East Regional of the 2028 NCAA Tournament.
Unveiling gives first look inside the Lenovo Center, formerly PNC Arena in Raleigh Meanwhile, the NCAA Men’s and Women’s College Cups will return to WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary for the 2026 and 2027 championships. The venue has hosted the College Cup 19 times since 2003, which includes 11 occasions featuring the women and eight for the men. WakeMed Soccer Park also has hosting duties for both men’s and women’s soccer in 2024, as well as the men’s again in 2025.
Other notable local sites are Karen Shelton Stadium on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Cameron Indoor Stadium at Duke University, which will host the NCAA field hockey and fencing championships in 2027, respectively.
Additionally, one of the 2027 women’s gymnastics regionals is taking over Reynolds Coliseum at North Carolina State University, while the NCAA Division II baseball finals are heading to the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary.
