Target of murder-for-hire plot in Alabama now dating reality TV star

DOTHAN, Ala. ( WDHN ) — The ex-husband of a former Houston County beauty queen and target of her alleged murder-for-hire plot in the Bahamas is now reportedly dating “Chrisley Knows Best” star Savannah Chrisley, according to PEOPLE Magazine.

Robert Shiver and Chrisley made their first official public appearance as a couple on February 6 during a fundraising event in Nashville.

Their relationship was made official in a November 2023 Instagram post by Chrisley showing the two kissing with the caption “Sometimes… it just works ❤️” and she confirmed their relationship was going strong during a February 2024 interview with PEOPLE magazine.

“It’s been great. Everything’s awesome,” Chrisley told PEOPLE Magazine about her relationship with Robert.

Robert made headlines in July 2023 after his ex-wife and former Houston County beauty queen Lindsay Shiver was arrested in the Bahamas after allegedly plotting to have Robert killed by her lover, Terrance Bethel, and his friend, Faron Newbold.

According to Georgia court records, Robert filed for divorce from in Lindsay after finding out about her and Bethel’s alleged affair in July.

In September 2023, not long after Lindsay Shiver’s initial arrest in Nassau, PEOPLE Magazine reported Robert and Chrisley were seen together for the first time at a Los Angeles Airport and said she hinted at their relationship during a podcast just days before.

“This guy that I’m talking to, his wife just tried to kill him. … It was a thing,” she said during the Viall Files Podcast in September. “He’s a normal person, and I love it.”

Chrisley told PEOPLE that Robert was a “blessing amid the turmoil” after her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, were imprisoned on tax fraud and evasion charges last year.

Lindsay was set to go to trial on the murder-for-hire charges on Monday, March 4, in the Bahamian capital, but the trial was delayed until July 1.
