Weekend Outlook : The cold front will stall along the coast. This will allow us to have more comfortable humidity levels all weekend with plenty of sunshine on Saturday and Sunday. High temperatures will still be hot in the upper 80s to lower 90s.

Sunday morning will be cooler with lows in the middle to upper 60s. Enjoy this break in the muggy weather!

Next Week Outlook : Monday morning will start cool, and it will be mostly sunny with hot afternoon highs in the lower 90s. An upper-level area of high pressure, a heat dome, will be over the Southern Plains States. This will build east into Alabama Tuesday through Friday, and we will become hotter. The old cold front will left north as a warm front bringing back the muggy air on Tuesday. We will be partly cloudy, hot, and humid with a daily chance for some showers and storms Tuesday through Friday. We will have to watch for some clusters of strong storms (MCSs) tracking into Alabama from the north due to NW Flow aloft from a heat dome over the Southern Plains States. High temperatures will be in the middle 90s and the heat index of 100-105°+.

Tracking the Tropics : Debby is now post-tropical as it continues to move NE across the Northeast U.S. with flooding rains.

There is a disorganized tropical wave WSW of the Cabo Verde Islands. It is moving west and conditions will be more favorable for development early next week. A tropical depression could form by mid-week as the wave moves into the Lesser Antilles. NHC is giving this system a high chance of developing. Extended forecast models show this system turning northwest to north around an area of high pressure in the middle of the Atlantic. On this track, it could impact the U.S. East Coast and Bermuda in about 10 days.
