    Coroner searching for family of man who died while crossing the street in his wheelchair in Fultondale

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office is looking for the family of a man who was killed while crossing the street in his wheelchair over the weekend.

    At 1:55 a.m. Saturday, Billy Ray Hall, Jr. was hit by a car at the corner Georgia Road and 52nd Way North in the Coalburg community in Fultondale. The driver of the car left the scene before police could arrive. At 2:14 a.m., Hall was pronounced dead.

    Hall, 59, was reportedly a disabled veteran who lived in Coalburg for several years. According to the JCCO, all of his known family members are dead.
