    2 dead after late-night shooting in west Birmingham

    UPDATE: Truman Fitzgerald with the Birmingham Police Department reports the second victim shot on 30th Street SW died from his injuries at UAB Hospital. He was identified as Na’Bryan Adams, 20, of Birmingham. No one is in custody in connection to the shooting.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — One person was killed and another person was injured in a shooting in west Birmingham Wednesday night.

    According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, the shooting happened on the 700 block of 30th Street SW around 8:05 p.m. First responders found 28-year-old Kayla Alexandria Warren shot at the scene and transported her to UAB Hospital for treatment where she would later die.

    Birmingham city leaders alarmed by shooting that left young woman dead

    A second shooting victim arrived at Princeton Hospital via private vehicle. He has life-threatening injuries.

    Preliminary investigation suggests both victims were at the residence when an unknown suspect began firing shots toward the residence. No one is in custody at this time.
