Dead body found in Northport woods

NORTHPORT, Ala. ( WIAT ) — Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a dead body that was found in Northport Wednesday.

At 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, the Northport Police Department received a report of a body that had been found in the woods off Northbrook Drive. No other information on the identity of the victim or the condition of the body have been released.

The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit is investigating the case.
