    Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne joins CBS 42 Morning News

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — The Kalen DeBoer era of Alabama football is kicking off Saturday with a matchup against Western Kentucky at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

    Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne joined CBS 42 Morning News on Tuesday to discuss his thoughts on the new campaign. DeBoer was named the new head coach of Alabama football in January. Former head coach Nick Saban retired after winning six national championships with the Crimson Tide over 17 seasons.

    Byrne also talked about the dedication of Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium . The ceremony will take place during halftime of Alabama’s contest versus South Florida on Sept. 7.
