Ohatchee man killed in Calhoun County crash

CALHOUN COUNTY, Ala. ( WIAT ) — A single-vehicle crash that on Wednesday night left an Ohatchee man dead.

John Pruitt, 55, was killed when the Lincoln Town Car he was driving left the roadway, struck a ditch, overturned and struck a tree around 6:25 p.m., according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. Pruitt was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred on Alabama 144 near the 22 mile marker. Nothing else is available as ALEA continues to investigate.
