3 men killed in Bessemer gas station shooting

BESSEMER, Ala. ( WIAT ) — Three men were killed in a shooting at a Bessemer gas station late Friday night.

According to Bessemer Police Department Det. Justin Burmeister, the shooting occurred around 11:40 p.m. at the Citgo gas station on 200 Fourth Avenue North in the city.

The shooting started outside in the gas station’s parking lot and proceeded inside the establishment’s store. Burmeister said the victims ran inside, and the shooters followed them. Police found the three victims dead inside the store.

The victims drove two vehicles. Police believe there are at least two suspects who were in one vehicle. Officers received video footage from the gas station. The worker who was at the gas station when the shooting happened was not injured.

There is no one in custody in connection to the case. Those with information on the shooting are urged to call the Bessemer police tip line at 205-428-3541 or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.

#1 You have to have a Mayor & Police Chief that gives a damn ... They need a stop n search damn near every car on the road ! They could invest in cameras every 4-6 square blocks.... so you can follow cars/people if something goes down. Think people think ! I grew up in Jonesboro and it was safe ... but now Bessemer is little Chicago! A damn disgrace ! But I also think Bessemer residents can get cameras also..... Find the Camera and you'll find the Criminal !
