Suspect arrested after 3 shot to death at Bessemer gas station

BESSEMER, Ala. ( WIAT ) — A 20-year-old is under arrest after three men were shot to death at a Bessemer gas station on August 30.

According to Bessemer Police Department Det. Justin Burmeister, the shooting occurred around 11:40 p.m. at the Citgo gas station on 200 Fourth Avenue North in the city.

The shooting started outside in the gas station’s parking lot and proceeded inside the establishment’s store. Burmeister said the victims ran inside, and the shooters followed them. Police found the three victims dead inside the store.

Officers have received surveillance footage of the shooting and stated the clerk at the gas station was not injured.

Raukeem Cunningham, 20, is charged with capital murder in the case and is being held without bond.
