Children’s of Alabama opening 3 new playrooms in partnership with Panda Restaurant Group

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — Children’s of Alabama patients are getting a new care experience thanks to a commitment from a longtime partnership company.

The Panda Cares Center of Hope features three age-appropriate playroom spaces for patients and their families, providing comfort alongside their healthcare.

According to a news release, specially curated programs at the center will address each child’s well-being including mental, physical and spiritual needs.

“We are proud to partner with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals to bring the vision of the Panda Cares Center of Hope to life and are humbled to be part of the healing journey for the families and kids at these hospitals,” Dr. Peggy Cherng, co-founder and co-CEO of Panda Restaurant Group, stated in a press release.

The Panda Restaurant Group is the parent company of Panda Express and other subsidiaries across the U.S.

Panda Care Centers of Hope have opened in Children’s Miracle Network hospitals nationwide through donations from Panda Express associates and guests. The agencies have partnered together since 2007.
