    Alabama defensive lineman Tim Keenan III earns SEC honor

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — An outstanding Week 2 performance from Alabama defensive lineman Tim Keenan III has earned him an SEC honor.

    The league announced Monday the redshirt junior as the SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week. Keenan recorded a career-high nine tackles versus South Florida on Saturday. Those nine tackles included 1.5 sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss, which are also career bests for Keenan.

    AP Top 25: Alabama holds steady at No. 4

    The Birmingham native led the Crimson Tide during its 42-16 win in tackles for loss and sacks. His total tackles total ranked third for Alabama that night. Kennan also notched one quarterback hurry.

    After Week 1, Alabama defensive back Keon Sabb was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week because of his two-interception performance against Western Kentucky . Wide receiver Ryan Williams received the SEC Freshman of the Week honor because of his two touchdowns in the season opener.

    The 2-0 Crimson Tide will travel to Wisconsin for an 11 a.m. Saturday matchup versus the 2-0 Badgers.
