Tuscaloosa woman struck, killed by tractor-trailer identified

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ( WIAT ) — Tuscaloosa police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Wednesday morning.

According to the Tuscaloosa Police Department, officers arrived at the northbound lanes of I-359 around 5:23 a.m. Wednesday. Police believe a 30-year-old Tuscaloosa woman was in a single-vehicle crash as she exited the ramp from I-59/I-20 to I-359.

Her car came to a rest across the middle lane of I-359. A witness told police the woman left her car after the crash and was hit by an 18-wheeler.

The woman was pronounced dead at DCH Regional Medical Center. The TPD identified the woman as 30-year-old Kiana Marie Armstrong.

The TPD’s Traffic Homicide Unit is investgating the crash.
