    Jefferson County high school students remember 9/11

    IRONDALE, Ala. ( WIAT ) — Jefferson County students honored first responders and those who died in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on Wednesday.

    A memorial ceremony was held at Shades Valley High School. The school’s Marine Corps Junior Officers’ Training Corps led the ceremony. Flowers were laid in memory of those who died and in honor of those who helped save lives at the World Trade Center and Pentagon.

    Irondale Mayor James Stewart participated in the ceremony.
