(WHNT) — On Thursday, a number of strong to severe storms moved through the Tennessee Valley and left behind damage.

Strong winds and heavy rain were in the forecast due to the remnants of Francine reaching the area.

The strongest gust has been 51 mph at the Huntsville International Airport. A 47 mph gust was recorded at the top of Monte Sano. Sustained winds are forecast to range from 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph possible.

The strong winds caused multiple trees, tree limbs, and powerlines to come down across the area. The downlines have led to numerous power outages. It’s important to have flashlights and extra batteries if the power were to go out.

A ferry got pinned up against rocks in Decatur near the Hudson Memorial Bridge due to the strong winds on Thursday afternoon.

A News 19 crew saw passengers getting off the ferry after it hit the rocks as they arrived on the scene.

News 19 will be posting reports and photos of damage we receive in the blog below. You can send in a report of damage to interactive@whnt.com .
