Tuesday: Skies will be mostly clear to partly cloudy during the afternoon and evening hours with lower humidity filtering in. High temperatures will reach the middle to upper 80s, especially where skies remain more sunny.

Looking Ahead: Our weather pattern is very tranquil this week as we remain on the northwest, dry side of the tropical disturbance currently moving ashore the Carolinas. This weak system is pulling in just enough dry, stable air behind it to prevent any rain from forming here for much of this week. Temperatures remain very seasonal in the middle to upper 80s with low temperatures eventually falling into the lower half of the 60s by Wednesday and Thursday morning due to less moisture in the air.

We will have a partial lunar eclipse on Tuesday evening from roughly 8 PM to midnight. This will allow for part of the moon to turn a reddish hue for a few hours. Viewing conditions look optimal at this time, but some high clouds will be drifting through, especially across our northern counties. Concerning the rest of us, viewing conditions should be better with mostly clear skies.

Tracking the Tropics: The remnants of PTC 8 are pulling inland and northward, well away from central Alabama. Tropical Depression Gordon is in the open Atlantic and forecast to become a Tropical Storm but is not a threat to land.
