Birmingham police searching for missing 72-year-old man

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — The Birmingham Police Department is searching for a 72-year-old man who was reported missing Aug. 11.

Police state Edwin Beckman Jr.’s last known location is the 1200 block of Springs Avenue. Beckman’s family said he left his cell phone and other belongings behind. He has no known health conditions.

Authorities could not provide a clothing description for Beckman. The 72-year-old is reportedly 5-foot-11, weighs around 185 pounds and has gray eyes and hair.

Those with information on Beckman’s whereabouts are urged to call the BPD at 205-328-9311, 911 or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
