Man killed after tractor-trailer overturns in Chilton County

CHILTON COUNTY, Ala. ( WIAT ) — A Jemison man was killed while driving a tractor-trailer in Chilton County early Wednesday morning, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports.

At around 1:15 a.m., a 2024 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by 53-year-old Mark Allred left the roadway and struck a cable barrier before overturning. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred on Interstate 65 near the 215-mile marker, about five miles southeast of Jemison. Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are investigating the crash.
