    African American Women’s Health Walk happening Sept. 28 in Fultondale

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — The African American Women’s Health Initiative is hosting its first-ever health walk at Fultondale’s Black Creek Park on Saturday.

    The “Walk to Wellness” hopes to improve African American women’s health through on-site resources, including a wellness screening. Registration starts at 8 a.m., and the walk will begin at 10 a.m. after an opening ceremony.

    Miles College signs agreement to buy Birmingham-Southern College campus

    The event is expected to be the largest walk in Alabama, with over 600 participants currently signed up to attend. September has been declared “African American Women’s Health Month” by Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey.
