BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — A beloved philanthropist who has been the face of one of the most well-known and impactful charities in Tuscaloosa will be the guest picker on the nationally broadcast “College GameDay” on ESPN.

Terry Saban, wife of former Alabama head coach Nick Saban, was announced as the guest picker Friday for the show, which will be broadcast live from the University of Alabama campus. Nick Saban, who retired from the team after 17 years at the Capstone, joined “College GameDay” this season as a co-host and analyst.

Saban, affectionately known as “Miss Terry” among the legion of Alabama fans, encouraged people to come to Denny Chimes on Saturday morning for the show.

“I’ve already been working on my picks and I think I’m going to beat Nick,” Saban said in a post on the “College GameDay” X page. “I’ll see you there. Roll Tide.”

While Nick Saban was the face of Alabama football, Terry Saban is often the face of the couple’s charity, Nick’s Kids Foundation, which has built homes in the city through Habitat for Humanity, as well as donate millions of dollars to local groups. Despite the Sabans splitting their time outside of Tuscaloosa in retirement, Mrs. Saban said they would continue to be involved in their foundation, as well as philanthropic efforts in Tuscaloosa.

Nick and Terry Saban have been married since 1971.

Previous guest pickers on the show have included singer Katy Perry, comedian Bill Murray and many more.

“College GameDay” will air at 8 a.m. Saturday on ESPN. The Alabama-Georgia game will kick off at 6:30 p.m. at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
