‘2nd chance hiring fair,’ expungement clinic to be held in Jefferson County

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — There will be a “second chance hiring fair” in Jefferson County on Oct. 8.

According to the Jefferson County Family Resource Center, the event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Boutwell Auditorium. Those attending can participate in an expungement clinic and register to vote.

Additionally, those seeking to clear their criminal record of certain misdemeanor charges can go to an expungement clinic Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Sixth Avenue Baptist Church. Participants must fill out a pre-screening form, which can be found here , to request an appointment for the clinic.
