    5 Birmingham-area theatre performances to look out for in October

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — The Birmingham area has several local theaters that offer shows and events throughout the year.

    Here’s a list of some local performances to keep an eye out for in October 2024:

    • Homewood Theatre — “But Why Bump Off Barnaby?”
      • This comedic mystery can be seen at the Homewood Theatre from Oct. 24-Nov. 3.
    • Leeds Art Council — “Young Frankenstein”
      • From Oct. 10-13, this comedic musical pays a humorous homage to “Frankenstein.” This show is rated PG-13.
    • Virginia Samford Theatre — “Twelfth Night” (Youth Edition)
      • This classic Shakespearean comedy can be enjoyed by audiences from Oct. 24-27.
    • Birmingham Festival Theatre — “Psycho Beach Party”
      • This thriller comedy can be seen at the Birmingham Festival Theatre from Oct. 4-20.
    • Birmingham Children’s Theatre — “Peter and the Wolf”
      • This fairy tale-based show has a performance Oct. 12.
