Ruptured gas line closes road in Shelby County

SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. ( WIAT ) — Cahaba Valley Trace between Cahaba Valley Road and Heritage Parkway is closed Tuesday morning due to a ruptured gas line.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office confirms crews are on the scene working to repair the damage, but repairs may not be complete before regular school traffic times. Traffic in the area is expected to be heavily impacted by the repair work.

Schools in the area are being notified of the ongoing work and potential traffic issues.
