    Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputy and school resource officer dies

    TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. ( WIAT ) — A Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Deputy and Brookwood High School Resource Officer died Tuesday, according to TCSO.

    Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office shared the news Wednesday morning regarding the death of deputy Tim Johns:

    Alabama authorities provide update on missing Ohio woman

    “Regretfully, The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office announces the sudden passing of Deputy
    Tim Johns (62) on October 8, 2024. Deputy Johns suffered a medical emergency while on duty
    that resulted in his unfortunate passing. Johns was employed with the sheriff’s office for 26
    years and was assigned to Brookwood High School as SRO (School Resource Officer). As a
    cherished member of the Brookwood High School community, Johns recently served as the
    Brookwood High School homecoming parade Grand Marshal. Deputy Johns made a lasting
    impression on those around him. He will be greatly missed by many to include his co-workers,
    school staff and students at Brookwood High School.

    The Tuscaloosa County’s Sheriff’s Office lost a beloved co-worker and friend. We will remember
    him for his candidness, great sense of humor and dedication to the community.

    Our deepest condolences are extended to the family members of Deputy Tim Johns.”
