Jefferson State Community College records increased enrollment

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — Jefferson State Community College announced Wednesday its enrollment is the highest in over a decade.

There are around 9,400 students enrolled in the 2024 fall semester at Alabama’s largest community college, marking Jefferson State’s peak since 2011. It last exceeded 9,000 students in the fall of 2018.

“Our enrollment growth is a testament to the collective commitment to education and opportunity at Jefferson State,” said Jefferson State Community College Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management Amanda Harbison in a statement. “Together, we are creating pathways for every learner to achieve their dreams and enhance our community.”

Jefferson State operates campuses in Birmingham, Hoover, Pell City and Clanton.
