VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. ( WIAT ) — This weekend, the Bands of America Southeastern Regional Championship will be held in Vestavia Hills.

The competition, where high school bands from across the southeast will compete, will be held Saturday at Rebels Stadium at Vestavia High School. The event is hosted by the University of Alabama Birmingham Marching Blazers.

“Marching band is even more than music and performance; it’s a powerful experience that builds discipline, teamwork, and lifelong memories,” President and CEO of Music for All Jeremy Earnhardt said in a statement. “Participating in Bands of America Championships takes that to the next level, challenging high school students to strive for excellence, showcase their talents on a national stage, and feel the pride of being part of something truly extraordinary.”

Bands take the field for preliminary competition performances at 11:45 a.m.
