Tracking the Tropics : Hurricane Milton is a Category 4 with winds of 145 mph off the West Coast of Florida. It is batting wind shear and that decreases the winds but makes it much larger. The wind field will expand tonight. Landfall will be tonight into early Thursday morning as a Category 3 or 4 Hurricane between Tampa and Fort Myers. This will cause a significant storm surge, devastating winds, and heavy rain across Florida. Milton can potentially be one of the most destructive hurricanes on record for West-Central Florida.

Tonight : We will be clear, cooler, and comfortable. Lows will be in the upper 40s to upper 50s.

Tomorrow : It will stay breezy on Thursday across Alabama as Milton moves across Florida. The pressure gradient winds could gust around 15-20 mph across Central Alabama. High pressure will remain north of the state so expect more sunshine and high temperatures in the lower 80s.

The high pressure north of Alabama will bring us light winds, dry air, and more sunshine on Friday. It will be a tad cooler with highs in the upper 70s. The lows will be in the upper 40s to around 50 on Friday Night.

Friday High School Football : the weather will be great for the evening games. It will be clear, cool, and comfortable with kickoff temperatures in the lower 70s. Temperatures will fall into the 60s during the game so you may need a sweatshirt.

Weekend Outlook : The area of high pressure will be northeast of Alabama, and westerly winds will move over the state. This will help to warm us up ahead of a cold front. Saturday and Sunday will be sunny and warm. High temperatures will be in the lower 80s on Saturday and warm up into the middle 80s on Sunday. This will be wonderful weather for all of the college games around the Southeast U.S.
