MONTGOMERY, Ala. ( WIAT ) — The annual Camellia Bowl game at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery has received a new corporate sponsor, causing the contest’s name to change.

According to a Tuesday news release, starting with the 2024-25 bowl slate, the Camellia Bowl will now be referred to as the IS4S Salute to Veterans Bowl. IS4S stands for Integrated Solutions for Systems, a small business headquartered in Huntsville. It provides government, military and commercial customers engineering and management assistance. Founded in 2008, IS4S also owns locations in Auburn and Opelika.

“We are excited to see this change coming to the [former] Camellia Bowl,” said Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed in a statement. “Considering IS4S’ involvement with our military, and Montgomery having the distinction of being named a Great American Defense Community by the Association of Defense Communities, I can think of no better partnership for this prestigious bowl game we host right here in our community.”

The 2024 IS4S Salute to Veterans Bowl is scheduled to be held at 8 p.m. on Dec. 14. It will air on ESPN after the 2024 Heisman Trophy announcement. ESPN Events owns and operates the bowl.

The Camellia Bowl was first played in 2014. The IS4S Salute to Veterans Bowl currently features a Sun Belt Conference representative versus a Mid-American Conference opponent. In the 2023 contest, Northern Illinois downed Arkansas State, 21-19

“Sponsoring this bowl is a small gesture to express our immense gratitude for the men and women who have sacrificed so much to protect our nation and defend our freedoms,” said IS4S President and CEO Glenn Rolader in a statement. “We’re not doing this to advertise IS4S. We simply want to salute our veterans and thank them for what they do for our country. And to do it here in Montgomery – the capital of our home state – we consider it the highest honor to be the title sponsor of the Salute to Veterans Bowl.”
