    4 arrested after drugs, guns seized in Jefferson County

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — Four people were arrested after drugs and guns were seized during a search warrant in Birmingham on Friday, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

    The JCSO Vice and Narcotics Division and U.S. Marshals Service members executed an arrest warrant at the 200 block of 67th Place North. While the arrest warrant was being executed, it was determined there was probable cause for a search warrant.

    Cocaine, marijuana, firearms and more other illegal drugs were found during the search warrant that are connected to illegal narcotics sales and drug trafficking, per the JCSO.

    Curtis Pelt, 33, was charged with drug trafficking and was released from the Jefferson County Jail after posting $100,000 bond. Caroline Medley, 46, was charged with second-degree possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony failure to appear and two counts of misdemeanor failure to appear. Medley is being held in custody of the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.

    Savannah Dagenais, 32, was charged with drug trafficking. Dagenais in in the Jefferson County Jail with no bond. Giovanni Austin, 43, was charged with misdemeanor failure to appear. Austin is being held in Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
