BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — Birmingham’s Iron City will host a performance from singer-songwriter Cavetown next month as part of his upcoming tour.

The show starts at 8 p.m. on Nov. 8, with tickets still available on TicketMaster. Frankie Cosmos is planned to be a special guest opener.

Robin Skinner began releasing his music under the Cavetown moniker in 2013, gaining over two million YouTube subscribers and 250 million Spotify plays.

In 2015, Skinner gained widespread popularity from his debut single “This Is Home,” which was re-released as simply “Home” with updated acoustics four years later. His most well-known songs include “Devil Town,” “Boys Will Be Bugs” and “Lemon Boy.”

His newest album “worm food” was released on Nov. 4, 2022, featuring a dive into Skinner’s most vulnerable emotions regarding mental health, love and self-doubt.

“It’s a weird dynamic because a lot of the time I’m taking something that it’s hard for me to admit even to myself, then putting it into a song and sharing it with the entire world,” Skinner said in a press release with Wasserman Music.

Skinner has also collaborated with fellow independent artists, such as Orla Gartland, Chloe Moriondo and Beabadoobee, and stepped into producing music for Tessa Violet and mxmtoon.
