    84-year-old woman dies following weekend wreck in Vestavia Hills

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — An 84-year-old woman died following a wreck in Vestavia Hills over the weekend.

    Leasi M. Carranza Crookshank, of Vestavia Hills, was involved in a two-car wreck at the corner of Montgomery Highway and Shades Crest Road at 12:53 p.m. Sunday. She was subsequently taken to UAB Hospital, where she died at 8:15 p.m.

    Unidentified man shot to death during fight in Birmingham

    The Vestavia Hills Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
