Three Teenagers Arrested After A Rash Of Car Burglaries In Lakeland
POLK COUNTY, Fla. (CW44 News At 10)– On October 1, 2021, Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested three teenaged brothers: 14-year-old Adarius Valdez of Wauchula, 15-year-old Hasachi Thompson of Bartow and 18-year-old Malachi Thompson of Bartow for multiple car burglaries in unincorporated Lakeland where three firearms and multiple other items were stolen. Adarius and Malachi are prolific juvenile offenders, and at the time of the burglaries, they were on probation – Malachi for Vehicle Burglary and Adarius for Grand Theft.

TAMPA, Fla. (CW44 News At 10)– Douglas Edward Bennett (77, Clearwater) has pleaded guilty to passport fraud, aggravated identity theft, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He faces a maximum penalty of 22 years in federal prison. A sentencing date has not yet been set. HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (CW44 News At 10)– The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that happened on October 4, 2021, just before 5:00 a.m. in Tampa. Deputies responded to the report of a shooting in the 4500 block of Clifton Street in Tampa on Monday morning. At this time, detectives believe this deadly shooting was the result of an argument between the suspect and the victim. “Our detectives are currently piecing together the moments that led up to this man’s death,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff, Chad Chronister. “This type of violence will not be tolerated in Hillsborough county.“ At this time there is no threat to the public, the suspect is in custody.
